Innovations of Massive Disruption
Global project for American vehicle manufacturer to introduce new innovation ideas to massively positively impact their own internal processes and business models - from manufacturing to sales.Project Highlights
A major US OEM wanted industry innovations capable of massive disruptive impact at a Return-On-Investment level. The main goal was to introduce new disruptive innovations capable of changing the status-quo within the automotive industry. I was involved in the project to research, recognise, and implement new trends and concepts capable of massive impact.
The project was to recognise potential new ideas – from manufacturing to sales – and then implement them internally at specific divisions. The challenge wasn’t lack of new ideas, but focusing on the ones that could provide the best ROI. Combining expertise and know to completely change manufacturing processes and business models is always a challenge. The OEM was suffering with significant financial drains that were impacting the bottom line.
I led a team to create the framework for collection of potential trends and innovations. We collected over 100 potential ideas. From that list we created a top 20 list and moved on to the implementation of 10 with a 5-year life strategy cycle. The main priorities were to impact the bottom line financially. The introduction of disprutive innovations positively impacted the OEM financially like never before.
The delivered solutions ensured the OEM gained a $10B cost-savings over a 5-year period. That disruptive mentality is still part of the OEMs DNA to this day.
